Stille Wasser (Silent Waters)

To mark World Water Day on 22 March 2026, Lumine presented the projection installation “Silent Waters” on the water basin at the MQ. Visitors were able to listen to the installation’s soundtrack via a live stream on their own mobile phones. 

The work “Stille Wasser” lifts the element of water out of its everyday context, gives it a voice and makes viewers aware of its sensuality. The natural refraction of light and the dynamics of the water basin are deliberately incorporated into the piece. Among other things, the work showcases the effect of a single drop of water right up to the power of ocean waves. The installation also draws attention to the dangers of increasing environmental pollution, which is affecting this delicate elixir of life.
