20 Years Euro

Oesterreichische Nationalbank - Vienna

20 years ago. On 1 January 2002, Euro banknotes and coins were introduced in 12 EU member states. Today the Euro is the official currency in 19 countries for over 340 million people.

To celebrate this anniversary, the main building of the Oesterreichische Nationalbank was illuminated over a period of 3 months with the motifs of euro banknotes and coins.
